Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all of you! We pray you have a great Christmas as you celebrate the birth of Christ! Next year we will try to fatten her up so that she doesn't fit into a stocking!

Her namesake

In August we found out we were going to have a girl. After our appointment with the doctor, we were in the elevator and Gregory started to name our daughter. We had already decided on a boy name but had not yet decided on a girl name. Gregory wanted to name her right then! He started throwing out all kinds of names but continue to go back to one name in particular. He wanted to name her after both of our mothers - Theresa and Jacque. After a few days of thinking about names - Lauren had to think about all the name choices because this is a big decision and one not to take lightly - we decided to name her JACQUELYN THERESA HUDGENS and call her REESE. Jacquelyn comes from "Jacque Lynn", Gregory's mother and Theresa from Lauren's mother. Hopefully, she will not be in counseling in a few years because her parents named her something and are calling her something different!~

How It All Started........

We found out on May 31st we would be having a little one on New Year's Eve! The pregnancy went well with no complications until week 34. We went in for a regular appointment and ended up on the labor and delivery floor. Our little one was measuring in the 2nd percentile for her gestational age. The doctors wanted to monitor mom and the baby. That was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.....so Thanksgiving was spent in the hospital as they continued to monitor us. The following Saturday the doctors thought it was best to go ahead and deliver the baby on Sunday. After an attempted induction, a c-section was performed and little Reese was delivered. She was born 5 weeks early weighing 3lbs 1oz and 16 inches long. She spent 3 1/2 weeks in the NICU and came home on the 17th of December. We praise the Lord for His grace during the past 3 1/2 weeks and are so excited about our early Christmas present!
